"NO ONE ACHIEVES    ANYTHING ALONE"

Governments, businesses, and people from all over the world are joining hands against climate change.
Here are a few of the organizations and initiatives you can join and become a part of the fight.

COOL COALITION

    • A large amount of the world's population faces dangerous temperatures across the year.

    • From 1998-2017 166,000 deaths occurred due to extreme temperatures. In 2015 alone, 175 million additional people were exposed to heat waves compared to average years.

    • The Cool Coalition aims to deliver efficient, climate-friendly cooling for all, including through enhanced national climate plans. The coalition highlights promising innovations such as “cooling paper” that keeps temperatures down in buildings.

    • The Powering Past Coal Alliance (PPCA) is a coalition of national and sub-national governments, businesses, and organizations working to advance the transition from unabated coal power generation to clean energy.

    • It aims to accelerate the fossil-fuel phase-out of coal-fired power stations, except for the very few which have carbon capture and storage.

ENVIRONMENT DEFENSE FUND

    • Environmental Defense Fund or simply EDF is a United States-based nonprofit environmental advocacy group.

    • The group is known for its work on issues including global warming, ecosystem restoration, oceans, and human health, and advocates using sound science, economics, and law to find environmental solutions that work.

    • In 2011, EDF led a successful campaign to clean up highly-polluting heating oil in New York City and built a coalition to defeat Proposition 23, an industry-backed ballot initiative that would have blocked California's Global Warming Solutions Act.

    • The organization first gained national prominence with a grassroots organizing campaign that in 1987 succeeded in convincing Burger King to cancel $31 million worth of destructive Central American rainforest beef contracts.

    • Protecting forests and challenging corporate power has remained a key focus of RAN’s campaigns since, and has led RAN into campaigns that have led to transformative policy changes.
